This is my page about chao I will add information on chao for Sonic adventure 2 battle (these may work for dreamcast too).
Chao If you don't raise Chao then WHY NOT! There cute and fun to take care of and they make the game more exciteing.			Tips on Chao You can make your chao certain types like running type for example. All you need to do is give them the Chaos Drives or animals of the types so it's around 6 levels higher (just to be safe) or more and when your chao evolves into an adult it should be that type. Another tip is to raise all of your chao so they like you. In order to tell that they like you is they come when you Whistle and they skip over to you and give you a hug, and when they act happy when you are holding them. If you chao likes you it will be reborn instead of dying, but it might not always be reborn.
Chao information How to get a Chaos Chao To get a Chaos chao your chao had to recarnate 2 times, then give it one of each animal. If you want a dark or hero chaos chao you need to do the same as above but give them dark or hero fruits. Warnig about raising Chao Glitch There is a glitch in the dark garden if you have the ball. Don't let the ball go throuh the fence next to the tree. This will freeze your game and you will lose any data from when you entered the chao world. Tiny Chao Garden If you took your chao out of the tiny chao garden for GBA (or Chao Adventure 2 for dreamcast), and turn the game off or don't save that chao can be gone forever and there is no way to get him back.
